There are lots of uses of a screencast in businesses today and that is due to so many online or platform-based products. Everything from a
n app to a website, a software program or productivity tool could use a little help in getting you set up and using their product. Getting people excited to buy or use your platform is a great way to grow your business and get people talking about you. Here are three.
1. Marketing
One of the best ways for people to fall in love with your platform is to have them see it in action. Of course, a live demo isn’t always a possibility so what is a good alternative? Screencasting! It’s is a great way to allow people to peek into the inner workings of your platform and truly see its value.
When we are using screencasting as a marketing tool, we look to drill down into the purpose of the video. Is it to give a comprehensive but concise overview of the full product? Or do you want to highlight a couple of features in great detail that really set you apart from the competition? Thinking about these goals and taking into account the audience of the video will help you hone in to the video you need.
2. Training
There is great value to using a visual in many training scenarios and this is especially true when walking someone through a platform set up or website registration. We’ve all had a conversation where you are saying, “Over there, on the right, the top right, yes, click there!”. Being able to give people the directions and the screencast visual so they can follow those directions is a huge help in eliminating frustration or any barrier to someone using your platform.
